Keeping the prevailing heatwave conditions in mind, the Odisha government on Monday rescheduled the timing of Anganwadi centres across the state.
The Women and Child Development Department announced that the Anganwadi Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
To prevent awkward situations, the administration has directed Anganwadi Centers to maintain adequate supplies of ORS packets and clean water for youngsters.
The Department of School and Mass Education had earlier released a warning about the morning sessions. With the start of classes on April 2, the department has requested that morning sessions run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Notably, the heat wave condition prevailed in the state as the mercury crossed 40 degrees Celcius at several places while many stations witnessed a rising trend.
At least three places in the state recorded temperatures about 37°C at 11.30 am, while the day temperature at five other places was above 35°C.
Balasore was the hottest place recording 37.6°C followed by Chandabali and Jharsuguda at 37.2°C.
