Several districts of Odisha may experience thunderstorm and lightning today as the Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued warning in this regard.
“Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Angul,” the Meteorological Centre predicted.
Besides, the Met Department issued an orange warning for rainfall in at least 14 districts in the state.
Meanwhile, a spell of rain accompanied by lightning on Sunday evening brought the much-needed relief for the Odisha people reeling under intense heatwave conditions.
Several parts of north Odisha including Balasore, Bhadrak, and Mayurbhanj witnessed heavy rain during noon hours under the influence of westerlies.
Temperature Forecast: At various locations throughout the districts of Odisha, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is expected to drop by 2-3°C over the next 24 hours and rise by 2-3°C over the next three days.
