Eid-ul-Fitr 2024: For Muslims, fasting during Ramadan is more than just giving up food; on a deeper level, it’s a feast of self-control, a banquet of spiritual rejuvenation, and a banquet of divine connection. As we prepare to see the crescent moon beaming down on us, Chandra Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr arrive like a symphony of joy, bringing people together in celebration and gratitude. As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, Eid-ul-Fitr, also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is observed. It is a time for celebration and thankfulness for successfully completing the month-long fasts, which have their roots in the early days of Islam when the Prophet Muhammad, who received the revelations of the Quran, taught his followers about the significance ofย of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan hence, fasting from dawn to sunset during Ramadan is considered one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
For Muslims, the month of Ramadan is extremely important because it is thought that the Prophet Muhammad received the Quran during this time over a period of several years. Additionally, the month-long fast is successfully completed when the joyful celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr occurs at the end of Ramadan. Following the conclusion of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr is observed on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth Islamic month. The celebration starts with the sighting of the new moon, which marks the beginning of a new lunar month.
May this Eid bring countless blessings, happiness, and success to your life. Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones!
