Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices closed in positive territory on April 23. The NSE Nifty 50 gained 31.60 points, or 0.14%, to settle at 22,368, while the BSE Sensex rose 89.83 points, or 0.12%, to 73,738.45. The Nifty Midcap index rose 518.45 points, or 1.06%, to close at 49,614.85.
Grasim Industries, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, Nestle India, and Tata Motors were the top gainers in the Nifty 50. While Sun Pharma, BPCL, Reliance Industries, M&M, and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories were the key laggards in the Nifty 50 on April 23 during later hours.
The NSE Nifty 50 opens up by 0.50% at 22,447.05, while the BSE Sensex jumps 0.54% to 74,048.94 in the opening trade.
Shares in the Asia-Pacific region are trading positively on Tuesday morning. The Asia Dow is up by 1.60%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 is in the green, rising by 0.45%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index has surged by 1.99%, and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite has ended lower by 0.67%.
WTI crude prices are currently trading at $82.34, reflecting a 0.15% increase, while Brent crude prices stand at $87.39, showing a 0.12% rise, as of Tuesday morning.
The US Dollar Index (DXY), which gauges the dollar’s value against a basket of six foreign currencies, experienced a 0.03% decline, trading at 106.09.
According to Bloomberg, U.S. stocks rebounded on Monday, marking the beginning of the busiest week for first-quarter earnings, which will significantly influence the equity outlook. The tech-focused Nasdaq Composite closed up by 152.89 points or 1% at 15,434.90. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining 39.48 points or 0.78% to reach 5,006.71, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed higher by 253.58 points or 0.57% at 38,239.98.
