The heatwave conditions in Odisha are becoming unbearable with temperatures topping 40°C in at least three areas before 11.30 a.m. on Thursday. At the same time, the daytime temperature exceeded 32.4°C in at least ten locations this morning.
The situation has deteriorated due to excessive humidity following Wednesday’s Nor’wester and rain. According to the regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), day temperatures are unlikely to alter until Saturday, with some reprieve forecast on Sunday.
Balasore was the hottest place in Odisha at 40.6°C, while Jharsuguda and Keonjhar recorded 40°C by 11.30 today.
