Lava, a homegrown brand, has released the Lava Yuva 5G, a new affordable smartphone in India. For less than Rs 10,000, the inexpensive phone includes a 90Hz display, 50-megapixel camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. Lava makes a huge sales push about the clean software, despite the fact that the phone ships with Android 13 rather than Android 14.

Lava Yuva 5G has a 6.5-inch IPS display with a 720p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The phone has a hole punch cutout housing an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Powering the phone is a Unisoc T750 processor and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W USB Type-C charging. Running the show is Android 13. Lava says it’s using “clean” software in the phone with “no ads, no bloatware.” The phone will get one guaranteed update to Android 14 and two years of security updates. For photography, the Lava Yuga 5G has a dual camera setup on the rear with a 50-megapixel main camera.
Lava says the Lava Yuga 5G has a back panel made of glass. It comes in a choice of Mystic Blue and Mystic Green. Biometrics are handled by a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Face unlock is also available. Lava is using UFS2.2 storage in the phone. Additionally, it is offering 1-year warranty on handset and 6-months warranty on accessories.
