Every year, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) introduce new courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and short certification levels. These courses cover a variety of topics, including risk management, premier banking, and artificial intelligence.

IIT Madras
Like previous year, IIT Madras has launched a number of courses to help students improve their skill sets in growing fields. The following courses were announced on March 15, 2024: Artificial Intelligence, Applied Data Science, Backend Development (Java Spring Boot), Cyber Security Analyst, and Android Application Development with Kotlin and Flutter.
These programmes, which are available through the SWAYAM Plus platform, are designed to address the industry’s expanding demand for specialised knowledge. Each course has its own eligibility criteria.
In addition to these courses, IIT Madras provides certificate programmes for professionals and students looking to expand their knowledge. These courses are: Fundamentals of EVs and Charging Infrastructure (five months), Premier Banking (six months), Banking and Finance (three months), Mutual Fund (three months), Securities Operations and Risk Management (three months), and Digital Banking. These courses often need a related bachelor’s degree or job experience, and they provide essential certifications for future progression.
IIT Delhi
IIT Delhi’s new MTech in Robotics is a two-year program for engineering graduates with a valid GATE score. This course covers advanced robotics technology and prepares students for professions in automation and intelligent systems. Prospective students can apply using the IIT Delhi admissions webpage.
Another addition is the MSc in Biological Sciences, a two-year program designed to provide broad knowledge and research skills in biological sciences. Eligibility for this course requires a relevant bachelor’s degree with a minimum percentage.
IIT Kanpur
IIT Kanpur now offers an MTech in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Engineering, a two-year degree for BE or BTech graduates with a good GATE score. This course focuses on the design, development, and deployment of UAS technology, providing students with cutting-edge skills in this revolutionary industry.
The institute also provides a three-month certificate program in Full Stack Development – MERN Stack for undergraduates and graduates, which focuses on web development with the MERN stack.
Furthermore, the MTech in Cognitive Systems is a two-year program open to graduates of various engineering and science disciplines with a valid GATE score that investigates cognitive science and AI applications.
MTech in Data Science is a two-year curriculum that focuses on data analytics, machine learning, and big data technologies requiring a relevant bachelor’s degree and a GATE score for eligibility.
IIT Kharagpur
IIT Kharagpur’s MTech in Artificial Intelligence is a two-year program designed for graduates with a valid GATE score that provides advanced training in AI technology. The institution also provides a certificate program in hands-on Artificial Intelligence for Real-World Applications, a three-month course designed to provide practical AI skills to bachelor’s degree holders or current students.
IIT Gandhinagar
IIT Gandhinagar has introduced new programs in Engineering Physics, Space Science and Engineering, and Mathematics and Computing. The Engineering Physics program brings together physics and engineering to create solutions for high-tech companies. The Space Science and Engineering program teaches astrophysics, planetary science, and space exploration technologies, preparing students for positions in space research organizations. The Mathematics and Computing program combines mathematics and computer science, emphasizing algorithms, data analysis, and computational modeling. All these programmes require a valid JEE Advanced score and completion of Class 12 with relevant subjects.
