Mahindra has finally debuted its long-awaited electric SUVs in India: the BE 6e and the XEV 9e. The former is priced at Rs 18.9 lakh, while the latter costs Rs 21.9 lakh ex-showroom. Bookings for the electric SUVs will open soon, and the specifics are more than just interesting. Let’s have a closer look.
Mahindra BE 6e — Battery specifications and features
The Mahindra BE 6e is built on the INGLO platform, and the electric SUV Coupe is powered by two battery packs: 59kWh and 79kWh. The former produces 221 horsepower, the latter produces 281 bhp, and the torque is the same, 380 Nm. With the larger battery pack, Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of 682 kilometers, while the battery can be charged from 20–80 percent in 20 minutes, while the SUV can accelerate from 0–100kmph in 6.7 seconds.
On the features front, the new Mahindra BE 6e features multi-zone climate control, three drive modes, wireless phone charging, dual 12.3-inch floating screens, a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, and an AI interface. On the safety front, the SUV gets 7 airbags and an ADAS suite.
Mahindra XEV 9e — Battery specifications and features
The Mahindra XEV 9e is built on the same platform as the 6e, and the electric SUV is powered by a 59kWh battery pack producing 228bhp. Mahindra claims an ARAI-certified range of 656 kilometers, and the battery can be charged from 20 to 80 percent capacity in 20 minutes. According to the automaker, the 9e can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds.
The new Mahindra XEV 9e has a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS Level 2, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, three screens, and a rotary dial. The XEV 9e includes an Electronic Parking Brake, a 16-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system, an Auto Park function, mobile projection, six airbags, and more.
