Stock Market close highlights, Tuesday, July 15, 2025: Indian equity indices closed higher on Tuesday, snapping a four-day losing run, boosted by strong global mood, lower retail inflation, and consistent foreign capital inflows.
The benchmark BSE Sensex advanced 317 points, or 0.39 percent, to settle at 82,570.91. The Nifty50 closed at 25,195.8 levels, up 113.5 points, or 0.45%.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index and the Nifty SmallCap index both increased by roughly 0.95 percent.
All the sectoral indices on the NSE settled in the green, with the Nifty Auto index outperforming others with gains of 1.5 per cent. The Nifty Pharma and Healthcare indices also settled with gains of over 1 per cent each. Among others, Nifty Bank, Energy, Financial Services, IT, Metal, PSU Bank, Realty, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas rose up to 1 per cent.
Among the Sensex constituents, 22 out of 30 stocks settled in green. Sun Pharma, Trent, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finserv, and Mahindra & Mahindra were the top gainers, rising up to 2.7 per cent. HCL Tech, Eternal, Tata Steel, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank and Asian Paints were the top laggards.
The fear index (India VIX), which assesses market volatility, fell 4.17 percent to 11.48 points.
