Stock market close highlights: The Indian stock market closed flat amid stock-specific action on Dalal Street as investors reacted to the June quarter (Q1FY26) results reported by various companies.
The BSE Sensex closed at 82,186.81, down 13.53 points (0.02 percent), while the NSE Nifty50 fell 29.8 points (0.12 percent) to 25,060.9.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap index fell 0.61 percent and the Nifty SmallCap index fell 0.34 percent.
Among the Nifty50 constituents, 33 stocks declined and 16 advanced. Eternal (Zomato), HDFC Life, Hindalco, Titan and BEL were among the top gainers. Conversely, Shriram Finance, Eicher Motors, Jio Finance, Adani Ports and Bajaj Auto were among the top laggards.
Nifty Media fell 2.2%, Nifty PSU Bank 1.57%, Nifty Pharma 1%, and Nifty Realty 1.01%. Meanwhile, the India VIX, which measures market volatility, closed down 4.04 percent at 10.75 points.
