India and the U.S. have jointly launched NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), a groundbreaking Earth observation satellite. Designed for precise monitoring of climate, agriculture, and natural disasters, NISAR will scan the entire globe every 12 days.
It can detect minute changes in Earth’s surface, including land deformation, ice sheet movement, and vegetation shifts.
The data will aid in storm tracking, ship detection, sea ice monitoring, soil moisture analysis, and more.
This milestone mission marks over a decade of collaboration between ISRO and NASA.
