Sensex today | Stock Market close highlights, Tuesday, October 28, 2025: Following a tumultuous session, Indian equity benchmark indexes closed lower, led by a drop in real estate, IT, financial services, and consumer durable firms, indicating profit booking and cautious investor sentiment.
The BSE Sensex slid 150.68 points, or 0.18 percent, to 84,628.16, while the NSE Nifty50 closed at 25,936.2, down 29.95 points, or 0.11 percent.
In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap index (down 0.02%) and the Nifty SmallCap index (up 0.02%) finished nearly flat.
Nifty Metal and PSU Bank gained more than 1% each. On the contrary, Nifty Realty was the biggest loser, followed by IT, Energy, Financial Services, FMCG, Pharma, and Consumer Durables.
Trent, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, HCL Tech, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Bajaj Finance were the worst-performing Sensex constituents. Tata Steel, L&T, State Bank of India, Tata Motors PV, Kotak Bank, and Reliance Industries were the largest gainers.
