Sensex today | Stock Market close highlights, Friday, October 31, 2025: The main Indian equities indices closed the week’s penultimate trading session in negative territory, with losses across counters. The BSE Sensex fell 466.75 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 83,938.71.
Similarly, the NSE Nifty50 fell 155.75 points (0.60 percent) to close at 25,722.10.
Except for BEL, Larsen & Toubro, TCS, ITC, and State Bank of India (SBI), all other Sensex constituent stocks fell on Thursday, losing up to 3.45%, with Eternal, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj FinServ, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank among the top laggards.
The pressure was as apparent in the broader market, with the Nifty Midcap 100 and Smallcap 100 indices falling by 0.45% and 0.48 percent, respectively.
Except for Nifty PSU Bank (up 1.5%) and Nifty Oil & Gas (up 0.07%), all other NSE sectoral indexes closed lower, with the Nifty Metal and Media indices plunging more than 11 percent apiece.
Market breadth remained negative, with 1806 out of 3181 traded equities on the NSE closing lower and 1266 ending higher. Meanwhile, 109 stocks were unchanged on Friday.
