ISRO’s LVM3-M5 rocket successfully launched India’s heaviest communication satellite, CMS-03, from Sriharikota today (November 2) and successfully placed it into orbit. The space agency has taken off the biggest satellite, which weighs around 4,410 kg, and injected it into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit, setting a new record. The mission’s major goal is to improve communication coverage over the Indian mainland and neighboring maritime regions. This marks the fifth successful operational flight of LVM3, the same rocket that carried out the recent Chandrayaan-3 Moon mission.
After the successful placing of the heaviest satellite in the orbit, Chairman of ISRO- Dr V Narayan appreciated LVM3 rocket, stating it brought glory to India once again.
