Sensex today | Stock Market close highlights, November 17, 2025: Indian equities benchmark indices, the Sensex and Nifty, closed in the green on Monday, boosted by advances in public sector banks and consumer durable sectors. Additionally, the NDA’s victory in the Bihar elections 2025, as well as stock-specific post-earnings movements, boosted investor enthusiasm.
The BSE Sensex ended at 84,950.95, up 388.17 points, or 0.46 percent. Similarly, the Nifty50 closed at 26,013.45, up 103.4 points, or 0.4 percent.
In the broader market, the Nifty Midcap100 and Nifty Smallcap100 indices increased by 0.73 and 0.52 percent, respectively.
Among sectors, the Bank Nifty index reached a new high of 59,001.55, up 0.8%. Apart from that, the Nifty PSU Bank index rose 1.09 percent, followed by Nifty Auto, Consumer Durables, Financial Services, Realty, FMCG, and IT, among others.
Eternal, Maruti Suzuki, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tech Mahindra were the Sensex’s biggest gainers.
On the downside, Tata Motors PV, Asian Paints, Ultratech, Bharat Electronics, and Tata Steel were among the top laggards.
