The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for extremely dense fog in numerous districts of Odisha, with conditions predicted to last until January 7, 2025.
According to the IMD’s mid-day weather advisory, an orange warning has been issued for very dense fog at isolated locations in Jajpur and Nayagarh districts on January 5 and 6. During the same time period, a yellow alert was issued for severe fog in Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, and Gajapati districts.
On January 7, the IMD issued a yellow warning for intense fog at isolated locations in the districts of Kendrapara, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
The IMD also asked residents to exercise caution and take the required safeguards.
