The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formally announced on Friday the election process for its next national president as part of the party’s current Sangathan Parv 2024 campaign.
Dr K. Laxman, a Rajya Sabha member and BJP national election incharge, provided the timeframe for the organisational effort in an official announcement.
He stated that the electoral roll for the presidential election would be revealed on Friday.
According to the timetable, nominations will be accepted at the party headquarters in New Delhi between 2 and 4 p.m. on January 19. The nomination papers will be reviewed on the same day, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The window for withdrawing nominations has been set between 5 and 6 p.m.
Dr. Laxman also mentioned that a formal press release will be published at 6.30 p.m. on January 19, following the conclusion of the withdrawal procedure.
He further stated that the name of the next BJP national president will be officially unveiled on January 20 between 11.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. at the party’s headquarters in the national capital.
Nitin Nabin, the BJP’s working president, is slated to become the next national president, with his appointment anticipated to be officially confirmed on January 20.
Nabin has served in the Bihar Assembly five times and was a Minister in Bihar’s previous administration. He is well-known for his extensive organizational skills and administrative knowledge.
Along with his legislative career, he has played an important role in party organisation, holding national and state leadership roles. He has also been entrusted with significant organizational tasks in states such as Sikkim and Chhattisgarh.
On December 14, he was appointed the BJP’s working president, and he will formally take over as party president on January 20.
