On Thursday, India successfully tested its Medium Range Ballistic Missile Agni-4 from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Baleshwar district.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the launch validated all operational and technical parameters and was carried out under the Strategic Forces Command’s authority.Agni-4 is a two-stage surface-to-surface missile propelled by a solid-fuel rocket motor. It has a strike range of up to 4,000 kilometres and can carry nuclear warheads.
The successful experiment adds to India’s series of missile tests this year. Earlier, India has also carried out successful trials of the Agni-Prime and Agni-3 missiles. According to defence officials, the test strengthens India’s credible deterrence capability.
