The Odisha government has released the first installment of Rs 9.56 crore to qualifying higher education institutions under the ‘Gyanodaya – (KG to PG Free)’ plan. Suryabanshi Suraj, Minister of Higher Education, made the announcement on Thursday via his ‘X’ Twitter.
Following the first phase of UG admissions for the academic year 2026-27, the amount, equal to 10% of the overall provision, was directly transferred to institutions via SAMS.
The Minister stated that the second tranche of Rs 14.34 crore (15%) would be provided very shortly. The Government of Odisha is providing financial support for free education from KG to PG through the “Gyanodaya – Shikshya Ru Samruddhi” plan, he said.
