Ruturaj Gaikwad’s third consecutive fifty helped Chennai beat Punjab by 9 wickets, ending their opposition’s hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 9 wickets, ending their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs, on the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
After electing to bowl first, CSK floundered within the powerplay as KXIP openers KL Rahul (29) and Mayank Agarwal (26) led them to a wholesome 55/1 after six overs. However Dhoni’s aspect quickly turned the tables as they assumed management of the match with fast wickets because of Lungi Ngidi (3/39).
