AIIMS Bhubaneswar to stop OPD services as COVID cases rise

Bhubaneswar: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhubaneswar will close its walk-in OPD services from April 26 temporarily in view of the sharp rise in COVID-19 cases.

The decision was taken as many staffers of the healthcare facility tested positive for the virus and were placed under quarantine.

However the following services will continue.

* Day care services.

* Radiotherapy.

* Dialysis.

* Trauma and emergency.

* Emergency and life-saving surgery.

* Telemedicine and teleconsultation services.

* IPD services.

* Pulmonary (vaccination RMRC).

* Anaesthesiology (PAC and Pain Clinic).

* Immunization for old registered patients (Wednesday & Friday) and Yellow Fever (Thursday).

The patients who have registered online before April 26 will be allowed to be attended by their respective departments. Such patients need to show their online booking number at the entry gate. They shall be entitled to enter the hospital premises with only one attendant.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya App and telemedicine services will continue. The app can be downloaded from Play Store while telemedicine details will be available from the official website of AIIMS Bhubaneswar (www.aiimsbhubaneswa.nic.in). Patients’ overall routine checkups will continue through these services.

The timing of the services mentioned above are as follows:

  • Telemedicine Services– From 09:00 am to 05:00 pm from Monday to Friday, and 09:00 am to 01:00 pm on Saturday (All Working Days).
  • AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya App– From 08:30 am to 05:00 pm from Monday to Friday, and from 08:30 am to 01:00 pm on Saturday (All Working Days).
