The annual South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), the largest celebration of the best South Indian cinema, were hosted in Dubai over the weekend. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan received the best actress award for ‘Ponniyin selvan 2’ during the ceremony.
Aishwarya attended the award ceremony with her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, who was dressed in a stunning blingy attire.
The SIIMA Awards was a star-studded event that lasted two days. Many prominent personalities from the southern industry were in present during the occasion. On Saturday, Day One of the award ceremony recognized outstanding achievements in Telugu and Kannada movies, while Day Two focused on Tamil and Malayalam cinema.
Aishwarya Rai, the former Miss World, won the award for Best Actress. She earned the prize for her exceptional performance in the Mani Ratnam-directed film Ponniyin Selvan 2. Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan received the award for best actor in ‘Maaveeran’.
What drew everyone’s attention was Aaradhya, who stole the show in a stunning black and silver gown. All eyes were on Aaradhya as she was seen snapping photos and videos of her mother, Aishwarya, as she accepted the award. Aaradhya is frequently spotted by the actress’s side at various award ceremonies.
Meanwhile, the award for best film went to director Nelson Dillipkumar’s action-comedy blockbuster ‘Jailer’ starring Rajinikanth. Nayanthara and Chiyan Vikram received the best actress and best actor awards in their respective categories for their roles in Annapoorani and Ponniyin Selvan 2. Actor sundeep kishan got the award for rising star of the year.
