Apple released the MacBook Air with M4, a day after introducing the iPad Air with M3 and the base iPad with A16. The M4 MacBook Air is the successor to the M3 model from last year, with a slew of hardware advancements, including additional RAM, all at a cheaper starting price. The new MacBook Air is available in 13- and 15-inch screen sizes and costs Rs 99,900 in India. The Mac Studio 2025 revision, which arrives over two years after the last M2 update at WWDC 2023, will be available alongside the MacBook Air, with a choice of M4 Max and M3 Ultra CPUs. The new MacBook Studio costs Rs 2,14,900.
M4 MacBook Air, Mac Studio 2025 full India prices, availability
The 13-inch MacBook Air M4 starts at Rs.99,900. This is for the version with a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory, and a 256GB SSD. The standard 15-inch MacBook Air M4 with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, and 256GB SSD costs Rs 1,24,900.
The Mac Studio with M4 Max (14-core CPU/32-core GPU/16-core Neural Engine), 36GB of unified memory, and 512GB of SSD is priced in India at Rs 2,14,900. The Mac Studio with M3 Ultra (28-core CPU/60-core GPU/32-core Neural Engine), 96GB of unified memory, and 1TB SSD is priced in India at Rs 4,29,900.
Both devices are available to pre-order, with general availability pegged for March 12.
M4 MacBook Air specs, features
The MacBook Air with M4 is twice as quick as the M1 variant, according to Apple. The Neural Engine is 3 times faster. The Air now supports up to two 6K external monitors with the lid open, thanks to Apple’s next-generation hardware. The fundamental shape remains same, but a new “sky blue” color joins the midnight, starlight, and silver flavors in this version.
Both the 13- and 15-inch models have a Liquid Retina display with thin bezels and a new 12MP Centre Stage camera hidden in a notch. The screen has a maximum brightness of 500 nits. True Tone is available.
You get two Thunderbolt ports, a headphone jack, MagSafe charging, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. Battery life expectations are consistent with the previous model, at up to 18 hours.
In addition, the Magic Keyboard includes a full-height function row with Touch ID and a Force Touch trackpad. The kit concludes with a 4-speaker sound system that supports spatial audio and a 3-mic array.
Mac Studio M4 2025 specs, features
The Mac Studio with M4 Max is touted to be up to 3.5 times faster than the Mac Studio with M1 Max. The M3 Ultra model is literally insane. Apple claims it is 2.6 times faster than Mac Studio with M1 Ultra. The Mac Studio with M3 Ultra has the “most CPU cores ever in a Mac,” more GPU cores than any Apple silicon chip, and over 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth. It comes with 96GB of unified memory, which can be expanded to 512GB, “the most unified memory ever in a personal computer,” and up to 16TB of ultrafast SSD storage.
The 2025 Mac Studio update with M3 Ultra includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports and one SDXC card slot on the front, as well as four Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-A ports, one HDMI connector, one 10Gb Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the rear. The M3 Max retains everything but replaces the front Thunderbolt 5 with two USB Type-C connectors.
