Are you going to the Cuttack Bali Yatra that just started? The Commissionerate Police has issued various advice and directions, which revelers are asked to observe for their own safety and security.
During a press conference, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra urged visitors to avoid wearing heavy, expensive ornaments to avoid snatching. Similarly, parents who bring their children to the fair must have their phone number in the children’s pockets so that parents can be called if their children become separated in the crowd.
The DCP urged the elderly to avoid going to the airport during rush and peak hours.
Adequate personnel have been deployed to prevent any unpleasant incidents on the fairground.
Twenty-five aid posts have been established, and eight special teams have been deployed on the ground.
On the ground, 60 battalion police troops have been deployed. The entire fairground and the Ring Road connecting the venue will be monitored by CCTV cameras. Police officers in plain clothes will also patrol to keep an eye out for eve teasing, molestation, pickpocketing, and snatching, according to the DCP.
Heavy vehicles will not be permitted on the three main highways that connect the Bali Yatra grounds. Visitors are asked to park their cars in the designated parking lot.
Four-wheelers can park at Bhuasuni field, while all automobiles can park at Christian field. Parking is only permitted for two-wheelers at Daya Ashram field and Karttikeswar Gada. Two/three/four wheelers may be parked on the opposite side of the Chief Justice residence, according to an advisory issued by the Commissionerate police.
Police have also created a mobile application called ‘AMA BALIYATRA’ to provide real-time traffic information in the city and to help people find designated parking spots.
