Today, all Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidates who have been nominated for the upcoming Rajya Sabha election filed their nominations at the Secretariat.
BJD supremacy Sulata Deo, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, Sasmit Patra, and Niranjan Bishi have been nominated by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to fill the vacant seats in the Rajya Sabha from Odisha.
Patra, the party’s spokesperson, will serve a second consecutive term, while the other three will be first-time members of the Upper House of Parliament.
According to an earlier notification issued by the Secretariat of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on June 1 at 11.30 a.m. Nomination papers can be withdrawn until 3 p.m. on June 3.
If necessary, voting will take place on June 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Secretariat Room 54.
