Who is Nitin Nabin?
Nitin Nabin is a senior BJP leader from Bihar who has deep political roots. He was born in Patna and is the son of the late Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, a noted BJP leader and former MLA. Following his father’s tragic death, he became actively involved in politics and gradually developed his own political personality.
He had represented the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Patna. Nabin is recognized as one of the BJP’s most trusted leaders in the state. He won four successive Assembly elections in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025, following his victory in a 2006 by-election.
In the recent Bihar Assembly elections, Nabin won convincingly from Bankipur, defeating his nearest rival by more than 51,000 votes. His recurrent electoral victories has enhanced his position within the party. Nabin now holds the Road Construction and Urban Development portfolios in Bihar’s NDA government led by Nitish Kumar.
It should be emphasized that Nabin is largely regarded as having played a major role in handling the BJP’s alliance with the JD(U) and contributing to the NDA’s election success. Beyond Bihar, Nabin has also served as the BJP’s in-charge of Chhattisgarh, demonstrating his growing power inside the party’s national structure.
