The Odisha Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Class 10 board examination began today in 318 centers. This year, over 5.4 lakh students will take the matric exam, which will be held until March 20. The board released the Summative Assessment I results in January.
According to Odisha BSE President Ramashis Hazra, the BSE examination began at 8 a.m. All exams are administered in one sitting. Students were only allowed to bring their admit cards, blue and black pens, pencils, and geometry boxes. Electronic watches, for example, were not permitted inside the examination center.
“The examination began peacefully everywhere,” Odisha’s School Mass and Education Minister SR Dash told PTI. The question papers were distributed to the students in the first sitting at 7:45 a.m.” The minister stated that all necessary precautions have been taken to ensure the exam is conducted peacefully. The examination will begin at 8 a.m. because of the rising heat across the state.
Meanwhile, the State Open School Certificate (SOSC) Exam will be held alongside SA-2 and Madhyama.
Last year, up to 5.17 lakh students passed the exam. The ass percentage was 90.55 percent, which was lower than the pass percentage for 2021. (97.89 per cent). There were 8,119 A1 students and 54,889 A2 students. There could be up to 76,139 students passed in C grade (50-60%) while 1,16,262 students passed in D grade (40-50%).
Girls outperformed boys, scoring 92.37 percent compared to boys’ 88.77 percent pass rate. In 2022, approximately 1070 schools received 100%, while three schools received 0%.
