“It is informed that from Board Examination, 2024 CBSE based on feedback received from stakeholders has decided to do away with the Answer Books wherein tables were provided in the subject of Accountancy. From Examinations-2024, normal lines Answer Books as provided in other subjects in Class 12 will be provided in Accountancy subject also,” the official notification stated.

This change will be applicable from the board exams 2023-24.

2. No announcement of overall division, distinction or aggregate

The CBSE has announced that no overall division, distinction, or aggregate will be awarded to students taking the Class 10 and Class 12 exams in 2024. The Board made the announcement after receiving many requests from candidates to inform them of the parameters for calculating the percentage of students.
The board will not calculate, declare, or inform the percentage of marks.

3. Special arrangement for students participating in sports events, Olympiad

CBSE has declared that students who are participating in national or international sporting events or international Olympiads and are unable to sit the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams will be given special exams at a later date. However, there will be no distinct or special CBSE 2024 examination opportunity for the compartment and practical exams.

It was decided to promote sports and other educational competitions among teenagers.

To qualify, candidates must engage in a sport recognized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), as well as an Olympiad recognized by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE).

4. Sample question papers, marking scheme released

A total of 60 sample question papers have been released for Class 10 and 77 for Class 12. Students can check the same on the official website— cbseacademic.nic.in.
The answers are presented in the marking scheme along with marks for each answer.

5. Boards exams twice a year, best score to be retained

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister for Education, previously stated that the new curricular framework (NCF) as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is ready, and textbooks will be published for the 2024 academic session.

According to the NCF, board exams will be held twice a year, with students allowed to keep the best score. Students may sit for a board test in disciplines for which they have finished coursework and believe they are prepared.

Furthermore, from now on, Class 11 and 12 students will be required to study two languages, one of which must be an Indian language, and subject choices will not be limited to streams; students will have the freedom to pick.
