CBSE Class 10th Board Exam 2026 Schedule: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued the date sheets for the Class 10 board examinations in 2026. CBSE had already announced that starting in 2026, there will be two sets of board exams: Exam 1 and Exam 2. The first will be held in February-March, and the second in May-June. The board further informed that over 45 lakh students are anticipated to appear in Classes 10 and 12, comprising up to 204 topics.
“While the first edition will be conducted from February 17 to March 9, 2026, the second edition is scheduled from May 15 to June 1,” CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.
The advent of the dual-exam system, which is intended to reduce academic strain on students while also providing them with an additional opportunity within the same academic session, marks a substantial change in the date sheets.
CBSE announced the detailed calendar for 2026 approximately five months in advance, 146 days before the test begins. The Class 10 exam will start on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and end on Monday, March 9, 2026.

“As a general guideline, evaluation of answer scripts will commence approximately 10 days after the conduct of each subject’s examination and will be completed within 12 days. For instance, if the Class 12 Physics examination is scheduled for 20th February, 2026, evaluation is likely to begin on 3rd March, 2026 and conclude by 15th March, 2026,” Bhardwaj added.
According to the CBSE, this year’s two-exam system assures that students who did not meet their expectations in the February-March session will have another shot in May-June without having to wait a whole year.
