Chaitra Navratri is an auspicious time of year when devotees of Goddess Durga and Lord Rama fast for nine days and pray to the gods for prosperity and happiness. It is also a time for celebration, as Chaitra Navratri is one of the most awaited Hindu festivals. People pray to the nine avatars of Goddess Shakti during the nine-day celebrations, and on the final day, they celebrate Lord Rama’s birth. Chaitra Navratri will begin on Wednesday, March 22, and will end on Thursday, March 30. Ram Navami is on March 30th, and Navratri Parana (Dashmi) is on March 31st. The eighth day of Navratri, also known as Mahagauri Puja, falls on March 29. Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga’s nine incarnations. This festival is dedicated to Maa Durga’s nine avatars, which include Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. This festival is also dedicated to Lord Ram by many Hindu devotees. During this time, it is believed that the seventh avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu, son of King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya of Ayodhya, was born. On this day, people decorate places associated with Lord Ram’s birth and life, and they worship him.
