Chandrayaan-3: Around 1.15 p.m. today, the Vikram lander module of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft successfully detached from the propulsion module. Pragyaan, the lander and rover, will aim to settle on the Moon’s south pole on August 23. It should be mentioned that both the lander and the rover are carrying scientific payloads that will be used to conduct various experiments on the lunar surface. The mission was launched on July 14 using the GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Notably, if this mission is successful, India will become the fourth country in the world to reach this extraordinary milestone, after the United States, Russia, and China.
