The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) inaugurated an e-service-book portal that will expedite various job-related processes for its retiring personnel.
“The new digital framework will eliminate the need to physically transmit the service book. “One of the most important features of the e-service book is its real-time tracking capability,” stated a force spokesperson.
According to the spokesperson, CISF retirees can view the status of pension files in real time, providing transparency and accountability.
“The portal will speed up the pension processing system for the retiring personnel and ensure that they get all benefits on their date of retirement itself,” the spokesperson said.
2,400 CISF personnel retire every year
Every year, approximately 2,400 CISF personnel retire, and the new gateway is projected to assist these individuals.
The existing approach requires physically transferring service books between several CISF offices, which frequently results in delays and inaccuracies.
“This is particularly problematic for units located in remote areas as the process becomes more time-consuming and prone to mistakes. The online portal was conceived to end these hassles,” an official said.
The nearly 1.8 lakh-strong CISF is a central armed police unit under the Union Home Ministry that secures the country’s 68 civil airports, as well as important installations in the aerospace and nuclear power domain.
