Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated five high-voltage grid substations built at a total cost of Rs 254 crore in four Odisha districts through video conferencing,
Hinjilicut in Ganjam, Kalimela in Malkangiri, Biramaharajpur in Subarnapur and Godisahi, and Bahugram in Cuttack are the five locations. According to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the grid substations will benefit approximately two lakh people in these four districts.
A reliable power supply is critical to raising the living standards of the people of Odisha. Keeping this in mind, Patnaik’s administration has prioritized the development of power transmission and distribution infrastructure in the state.
There is a need for high-quality, continuous power supply in agriculture and industry, as well as in people’s daily lives. Electricity is extremely important in today’s modern way of life. As a result, the Chief Minister urged everyone to be cautious about wasting it.
Participating in the programme, Energy Minister Pratap Deb said, “Odisha has become a power-surplus state because of Chief Minister Patnaik’s vision. His efforts have proved to be fruitful.”
The video conference was attended by 5T Secretary VK Pandian, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Energy Department Additional Chief Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal, and other senior officials.
It is worth noting that Odisha has developed a strong power transmission infra. The state has 185 extra-high-voltage grid substations and a 16,000-kilometer circuit network.
