An emergency meeting has been called by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to assess the state of crime in Odisha.
The Home Secretary, Crime Branch, and Intelligence DG are expected to attend the meeting, which is set for today at 3 p.m. in the Lokseva Bhawan, according to sources. In the meantime, the CM has instructed the DGP to submit a report that includes the crime graph and details the state of crime for the previous 12 months.
It is anticipated that the gathering would examine how well the state’s law enforcement agencies are performing and talk about how to make things better.
The police department may undergo major changes as a result of the conference, including the potential transfer of senior IPS personnel, according to sources.
