Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presided over the 13th session of the Chief Minister’s Grievance Redressal Programme at the state grievance cell at Unit-2, Bhubaneswar.
As in previous sessions, the Chief Minister arrived in the morning and spoke with differently abled residents who were waiting outside the grievance cell, personally hearing their petitions and promising them that proper action would be taken. He then proceeded to listen to registered residents’ grievances within the cell before delivering quick directives to senior officials for solutions.
The state cabinet was well represented at the session, with nine senior ministers joining the Chief Minister to hear public grievances. Additional Chief Secretaries and department-level secretaries were also present, allowing for prompt replies to the grievances expressed.
A considerable crowd had gathered at the venue since early morning, many of whom expressed happiness with their direct engagement with the Chief Minister and ministers. Several complainants indicated they were reassured by the government’s commitment to immediately resolving their issues.
A medical team was stationed at the event to assist those in need of emergency care.
Three people with serious illnesses received urgent financial support for their treatment thanks to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the Single Window System. Since January, the government has provided financial assistance of ₹55 lakh to 51 persons through this system.
The state government’s grievance redressal initiative has so far received 11,516 complaints, out of which 10,502 have been successfully resolved, reflecting a resolution rate of 91 percent. The remaining cases are currently under review and action is being taken accordingly.
Also present at the session were senior bureaucrats including Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration and Public Grievance Department Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department Deoranjan Kumar Singh, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Saswat Mishra. Their presence underscored the administration’s coordinated approach in ensuring that complaints are handled efficiently and empathetically.
The session underlined the state government’s commitment to participatory governance, with the Chief Minister emphasizing the importance of people’s concerns in administrative decision-making.
