Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has released the third installment of the CM-Kisan scheme, providing financial assistance to over 51 lakh small and marginal farmers in the state. Through Direct Benefit Transfer, Rs 2,000 has been deposited into each farmer’s bank account.
At a state-level event held at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), the Chief Minister announced the cash aid in the presence of State Agriculture Minister KV Singh Deo and Deputy Chief Minister.
By giving farmers Rs 4,000 a year in two installments, the CM-Kisan initiative seeks to assist them. The total amount of aid given under the scheme has now reached Rs 1,041 crore with this most recent installment.
It is anticipated that the funding release will assist farmers with their preliminary agricultural tasks for the Rabi season of 2025–2026. In Odisha, the state government has been attempting to assist farmers and increase agricultural output. On the eve of the August 28 Nuakhai celebration, the funds were made available.
