The Odisha government has made extensive preparations for the next Rath Yatra, which is slated for June 7. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the arrangements during a meeting at Puri Town Hall attended by Deputy Chief Ministers, ministers, MLAs, and senior officials such as the Chief Secretary, DGP, and Fire DG.
The government has intensified security plans for the Rath Yatra, implementing a five-tiered security system. DGP Khurania stated that Quick Response Teams and drone support will be deployed, as well as the Coast Guard stationed along the shoreline, to ensure a safe and smooth celebration.
To give medical assistance, 69 primary health care centers, 64 ambulances, and 265 special beds have been set up. Additionally, 378 doctors and paramedical staff will be deployed, including specialist doctors from AIIMS, the DGP added.
Approximately 10,000 security personnel will be deployed to preserve law and order throughout the Rath Yatra. The government has also evaluated sanitary, transportation, and crowd management plans to guarantee that the festival is well-organized and disciplined.
