CM Naveen Patnaik Hikes Monthly Honorarium Of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) Members.

It ought to be noted to note that while Kartik Pandian was visiting different districts, Panchayati Raj delegates met with him and made suggestions for raising honoraria and allowances.

The decision states that the chairperson of the Zilla Parishad would now get a monthly stipend of Rs 30,000 rather than Rs 9,380. Additionally, their sitting fee and daily allowance have been raised from Rs 300 to Rs 600. The vice president of ZP now receives an honorarium of Rs 20,000 instead of Rs 7,040, and their DA+Sitting Fee has been raised from Rs 300 to Rs 600. Members of the Zilla Parishad will now get a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000 instead of the previous amount of Rs 3,530. Additionally, their DA+SF daily stipend has been raised from Rs 300 to Rs 600.

Chairpersons of Panchayat Samiti also toget Rs 35,300 now will get Rs 15,000 per month. Panchayat Samiti vice-presidents used to get a honorarium of Rs 2,350. Now, they will get Rs 7,005. Panchayat Samiti members who used to get Rs 2,350 will get Rs 7,005.

Similarly, Sarpanchs would now receive Rs 10,000 as opposed to Rs 2,350. Naib Sarpanchs, who previously received Rs 940, would now receive Rs 4,000. The Panchayat Samiti Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Panchayat Samiti members, Sarpanch, Naib Sarpanch, and Ward members now receive a daily allowance of Rs 480 instead of Rs 240.

Previously, the honoraria and stipends of Panchayati Raj delegates amounted to Rs 79.88 crore. Following the raise declaration, the government will invest Rs 242.56 crores. An additional expense of Rs. 162.68 crore will be borne by the state government for the announcement.

In addition, in the event that a Panchayati Raj representative passes away while serving, their family will receive Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia. If a person has a total disability (i.e., irreversible loss of eyes, hands, or feet), the government will pay Rs 2 lakh. Similarly, help of Rs. 1 lakh will be provided in the event of a partial disability (the irreversible loss of one eye, one hand, or one leg).
