Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik used a video conference on Wednesday to inaugurate the Odia University in Satyabadi, Puri district, adding yet another exciting chapter to Odisha’s history.
Built on nine acres, Odia University features classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, offices, and separate, cutting-edge dorms for male and female students. It also has the newest technology available.
The architecture of the Odia University’s administrative building was created using the Odia alphabet. The Odia alphabets are displayed on the walls of the administrative building, which is reachable by walking from the varsity door.
On October 9, 2018, the Chief Minister dedicated the varsity in the vicinity of Bakula Bana Vidyalaya.
With a capacity of 200 students, Odia University currently has 72 students enrolled in three departments.
The university had been functioning out of a makeshift campus in the Puri district’s Sakhigopal Panthashala for some time.
The institution admits students who are eager to study regional, tribal language and heritage studies, linguistics and natural language processing, and Odia language and literature.
