Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to increase the monthly salary of women matrons working in the student hostels run by the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste Development Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000
In addition, the heirs of every working woman matron who passes away from misfortune would receive a lump sum payment of Rs 2 lakh.
Likewise, the Chief Minister declared that upon their retirement at 60 years of age, they will receive a one lakh rupee lump sum payment. The state government will pay more than Rs 15 crore a year for this.
