Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik arrived in Rome on Monday for a 10-day foreign tour. Dr. Neena Malhotra, the Indian Ambassador to Italy, greeted Naveen upon his arrival.
During the courtesy call, Malhotra and the Odisha Chief Minister exchanged greetings and discussed his trip and five-day stay in Europe.
Naveen will meet Pope Francis in The Holy See, Vatican. In addition, he will meet Odia diaspora from all over Europe. The state would like to involve the diaspora in promoting Odisha’s art and culture.
Furthermore, the World Food Program (WFP) has invited the Odisha Chief Minister to visit its headquarters in Rome and share Odisha’s transformative initiatives in the fields of food security and disaster management.
Naveen will meet with WFP Executive Director David Beasley and senior WFP leadership. He will have in-depth discussions about Odisha’s partnership with WFP and future projects that will help the state ensure long-term food security.
