The BSKY Smart Health Card has been distributed to 96.5 lakh families, representing over 3.3 crore people in Odisha. BSKY beneficiaries receive healthcare in empanelled private hospitals for an annual health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family and an additional Rs 5 lakh for female family members after the initial Rs 5 lakh is exhausted.

There are currently 500 private hospitals empanelled under BSKY, both within and outside the state.

Out of these 500 private hospitals, 98 are located outside of the state, including hospitals of national renown such as Tata Memorial Hospitals, CMC Vellore, Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital Bangalore, Narayan Hrudalaya hospitals, Fortis Healthcare hospitals, Apollo hospitals, and others.

Empanelled hospitals outside the state now cover 17 states and provide health care to all BSKY card holders across India. More than 76 beneficiaries received treatment at CMC Vellore, and 979 received treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai.

After the launch of the BSKY Smart Health Card on September 1, 2021, the total number of beneficiaries will be 5,45,339, with services worth Rs 1191 crore provided. The entire cost of health care provided by accredited private hospitals has been borne by the state government.

Out of these, 23,119 people received services worth Rs 64.25 crore from hospitals outside the state. Of the total 5,45,339 patients who benefited, 2.5 lakh received healthcare up to Rs 5 lakh and 225 women received healthcare beyond Rs 5 lakh, with 27 women receiving healthcare worth Rs 10 lakh each.

Currently, the scheme benefits approximately 73,000 patients per month in empanelled private hospitals alone, at a cost of Rs165 crore per month to the government.

All BSKY beneficiaries receiving treatment at empanelled private hospitals receive 100% call back, and patient satisfaction with BSKY services is currently 97%. Swasthya Mitras have been deployed in the empaneled hospitals to assist patients with admission and other services.
