The Indian Navy began the two-day coastal defense exercise ‘Sea Vigil-22’ off the coast of Paradip on tuesday. The exercise is being held for the first time among departments from four different states. It will aid in the maintenance of harmony among the various states, as well as in dealing with external enemies.
Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra are all participating in the exercise.
The event is being attended by the Coast Guard, Marine Police, Customs, Forest Department, Fishery Department, Odisha Police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Intelligence Department, and over 13 central and state organizations.
There will be two teams: red and blue. While the Red Team will focus on the fishing jetty, Mahanadi river mouth, Exclusive Economic Zone, Radar Station, Light House, film hall, slums, trade centre, bus stand, port gate, administrative building and gates of industries, the Blue Team will prevent them.
