On Saturday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi addressed the two-day District Collectors’ Conference in Bhubaneswar, saying that ‘complaints lodged by women are top priority’.
Complaints from women should be treated seriously at the police station. The police should take any complaints filed very seriously. During the District Collector and SP session, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi advised and instructed the Odisha Police. According to the Chief Minister, the police represent the common people’s optimism.
He recommended people to be patient when they come to the police station with their grievances. Listen to them, even if they arrive at the police station at 2 a.m. The Chief Minister has asked the DGP for district-specific information on crimes against women.
The women and children’s desk at the police station has been ordered to be more functional. The government will provide bikes to make the work simpler and easier. Each police station has one bike designated for field duties.
As many as nine thousand bikes would be sent to police stations throughout Odisha. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that 2298 home guards will be re-appointed shortly.
