On Thursday, the Congress party moved a no-confidence vote against the BJP government in Odisha, with party MLAs filing a memorandum in support. The motion was presented to the Speaker through the Assembly Secretary.
According to Congress leaders, 15 MLAs support this move. CPI(M) MLA Laxman Munda has allegedly expressed his support for the proposal. However, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has yet to declare support for the no-confidence vote.
Notably, the Congress party has criticized the government’s handling of many issues and called for the resignation of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Congress leaders argued that the BJP government led by Mohan Charan Majhi failed to address issues such as women’s safety, law and order, and challenges experienced by farmers, dalits, tribals, and OBCs, prompting the party to file a no-confidence motion against it.
