According to Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday, India saw a single-day increase of 3,095 new COVID-19 cases, with the active caseload increasing to 15,208.
The death toll has risen to 5,30,867 in a 24-hour period, with five deaths reported by Goa and Gujarat, and three reconciled by Kerala, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
The daily positivity rate was 2.61 percent, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.91 percent.
The total number of Covid cases was 4.47 crore (4,47,15,786).
According to the ministry’s website, active cases now account for 0.03 percent of total infections, with a national recovery rate of 98.78 percent.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease is 4.41 crore (4,41,69,711), with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, 220.65 crore Covid vaccine doses have been administered as part of the nationwide drive so far.
