India recorded the largest single-day increase in six months with 3,824 Covid-19 infections in the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. on Sunday. According to Union Health Ministry data, the number of active cases in the country has risen to 18,389 as a result of the sudden increase. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 5,30,881 due to five new fatalities. The current Covid-19 tally in India is 4.47 crore (4,47,22,605).
According to Health Ministry data, active cases account for 0.04 percent of total infections. The daily positivity rate is 2.87 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 2.24 percent. The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 4,41,73,335, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent.
According to data shared by the city health department, Delhi recorded 416 new Covid cases on Saturday, the most in over seven months, with a positivity rate of 14.37 percent. According to the department’s most recent bulletin, one Covid-related death was also reported during the day. It went on to say that the death toll has now reached 26,529.
