According to the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, the number of new Covid infections in India surpassed 5,000 on Thursday, with 5,335 infections registered in the previous 24 hours.
The new case brings the total number of active cases to 25,587.
The daily positivity rate was 3.32 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 2.89 percent, according to the data.
According to the Health Ministry, 220.66 crore Total Vaccine Doses (95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.87 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered as part of the nationwide vaccination drive. In the last 24 hours, 1,993 doses were administered.
A total of 2,826 recoveries in the last 24 hours brought the total number of recoveries to 4,41,82,538. The recovery rate has been set at 98.75 percent.
In the same period, 1,60,742 tests were conducted, bringing the total number of tests to 92.23 crore.
According to a Delhi government health bulletin, the national capital recorded 509 new cases on Wednesday. However, no deaths were reported.
The city has a positivity rate of 26.54 percent.
