The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory to candidates preparing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026. The examination is set for May. Once the application form is released, candidates can submit their applications through the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.
The NTA notification advised candidates that information about the programmes and courses offered by Central Universities (CUs) and other participating institutions can be found on the CUET (UG) portal as well as the respective university websites. Candidates can view and download the CUET UG 2026 syllabus from the official website.
The CUET UG 2026 examination will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode for admission to undergraduate programs at 47 central institutions and over 300 colleges across the country.
Furthermore, the Agency has declared that candidates will be able to alter their details if there is a difference between the name on their Aadhaar Card and their Class 10 marksheet during the CUET UG 2026 online application procedure.
Previously, the NTA recommended hopefuls to update their Aadhaar, UDID card, and category certificate before the application window starts to avoid issues later. The NTA will receive candidates’ date of birth, gender, and address from their UDID certificate via Aadhaar authentication, as well as other relevant information, for the CUET UG 2026 application.
However, because Aadhaar does not store the names of parents or guardians, candidates must input this information separately in the application form, as mentioned in the NTA notification.
CUET UG 2025
CUET UG 2025 took place over 19 days and 35 shifts, from May 13 to June 4. Instead of declaring toppers, the NTA has, for the first time, listed the application numbers with the highest aggregate NTA score across five topics. This year’s top five aggregate NTA scores across five topics are 1225.93, followed by 1210.10, 1205.17, 1203.40, and 1200.12.
According to data provided by the NTA, just one candidate got 100 percentile in four of the five subjects chosen. A total of 17 candidates got 100 percentile in three of their chosen subjects. The number of students who scored 100 percentile in two and one topic is 150 and 2,679, respectively.
