CUET UG 2025 revised exam pattern
This year’s CUET UG 2025 exam will be done entirely in computer-based test (CBT) style. This year, students are no longer confined to choosing subjects based on their Class 12 curriculum; instead, they can choose any subject, regardless of previous study.
Furthermore, the overall number of subjects available for selection has decreased from 63 to 37. This comprises 13 languages and 23 domain-specific disciplines. Admissions for courses that were previously matched to eliminated subjects will now be based on the General Aptitude Test scores.
Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Legal Studies, Fashion Studies, Tourism, and Engineering Graphics are among the disciplines dropped from the CUET UG curriculum.
The CUET UG 2025 test will be administered using a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, with students answering multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on a computer screen.
The examination is broken into three portions. Section 1 focuses on language proficiency, with candidates able to choose from 13 languages. It measures reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar skills. Section 2 focuses on domain-specific studies, and students can choose from 23 options based on their academic interests. The questions are developed in accordance with the Class 12 syllabus, ensuring that they are relevant to students’ earlier studies. Section 3 is the General Test, which assesses general knowledge, current events, logical reasoning, and numeric ability. This section is especially relevant for courses that do not require subject-specific examinations.
All of the questions on the CUET UG 2025 exam will be objective-type, multiple-choice questions. Candidates must choose the correct option from the available options, ensuring a simple answering process.
The marking scheme follows a specific pattern. Each correct answer receives 5 points, however 1 point is subtracted for each erroneous response owing to negative marking. To accommodate students with diverse linguistic origins, the question paper will be accessible in English and 12 regional languages. This ensures that candidates from all around India have equal access.
